The best transportation option in Cap-Rouge is usually a car. Parking is easy, and most properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Duplessis. In contrast, Cap-Rouge is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, property owners are served by approximately 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually very close. It is easy to get around by bicycle in Cap-Rouge because there are a fair number of bike lanes. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of Québec are located in places that are not very suitable for walking since meeting daily needs is challenging on foot.
Services
Families may find it challenging to access high schools and primary schools on foot. Moreover, there are only a few daycares and therefore they can be a rather long walk away. With respect to eating, buying one's groceries generally requires the use of a car in Cap-Rouge. Nevertheless, pharmacies are typically easy to access on foot and provide some basic food items. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes in close proximity.
Character
Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere will enjoy Cap-Rouge. A large number of locations in the neighbourhood have reasonably good access to parks, such as Parc Cartier-Roberval and Boisé de Marly, since there are approximately 40 of them close by for residents to visit. This part of Québec is quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although there are still several noisier sections, especially around the railway line or Autoroute Félix-Leclerc.
