It is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir, from anywhere in Valois, and it is very easy to find a parking spot. However, commuting by transit can be sometimes challenging in Valois due to the service's low frequency. Thankfully, it is convenient to come across a nearby train station, such as the Gare Valois with access to the Vaudreuil-Hudson Line, from the greater part of residences in the neighbourhood. There are a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. It is impractical for pedestrians to navigate this neighbourhood as common amenities such as laundromats or liquor stores can be an occasionally long walk away. Valois is also not especially suited for bicycling because Valois has a fairly poor cycling infrastructure. Nevertheless, bike riders do not face serious slopes.

On the other hand, it can be challenging to access high schools as a pedestrian. Concerning eating, it is rarely an option for property owners in Valois to reach the closest grocery store on foot. Nonetheless, reaching the nearest pharmacy and consequently some staple foods is usually convenient. A small selection of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.

The character of Valois is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. Most areas in this neighbourhood are reasonably quiet, as the streets are peaceful - however noise can be problematic near Autoroute du Souvenir or one of the railway lines. Lastly, the greenery in this part of the city is quite prominent; access to parks is easy from most locations in the neighbourhood since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to relax in. Residents will also find that there are numerous tree-lined streets.
