Driving is usually the preferred means of transportation in Valois. Coming across a place to park is easy, and it is a short drive to the nearest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir, from any home in this part of Pointe-Claire. In contrast, the public transit service in Valois is not particularly frequent. Thankfully, there is the Gare Valois on the Vaudreuil-Hudson Line. There are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and the nearest bus stop is typically very close. The bike is a somewhat poor means of transportation in Valois as the cycling network is not very comprehensive. Thankfully, the topography is quite flat. It is also impractical for people travelling on foot to move around in Valois as running daily errands is occasionally challenging on foot.

In most, if not all, cases, a vehicle is needed to buy groceries. Nevertheless, getting to the closest pharmacy and accordingly some basic food items is generally convenient. A small variety of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. Concerning education, families will welcome that no matter where their house is located in Valois, primary schools are nearby. On the other hand, high schools are not especially abundant and consequently not always within walking distance.

Valois offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. The greenery in this area is quite prominent as there are numerous tree-lined streets. There are about 10 parks nearby for residents to visit and they are especially well-distributed, which makes it easy to get to them from the majority of locations within this area. This area is quiet overall, as the streets are usually reasonably tranquil - although that is not the case closer to Autoroute du Souvenir or one of the railway lines.
