Lifestyle

Transportation

Duvernay is an extremely good part of Laval for moving around by car. Accessing a parking spot is quite easy, and many real estate listings are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute 25. On the other hand, Duvernay is not especially transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are around 10 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. Many of the houses for sale in this part of Laval are located in places that are not very conducive to those who travel by foot as very few daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

High schools and primary schools are not especially numerous in Duvernay, and consequently not always within walking distance. Likewise, it can be challenging to access daycares on foot. At the primary level, there are both public and private schools. As far as food is concerned, accessing one of approximately 10 supermarkets on foot is an option for some, but not all, home buyers in this part of the city. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

Duvernay offers a calm ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. There is a small amount of greenery in this area; to be more specific, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for numerous streets is sub-par. Nonetheless, public green spaces are easy to reach, since there are about 40 of them close by for residents to visit and getting to the closest park is occasionally challenging from most properties for sale. Most areas in this part of the city are reasonably quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially near Autoroute Papineau, Autoroute Laval Est or the railway line.
