About Living in L'Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec

L'Ancienne-Lorette is an extremely good part of the Greater Québec City metropolitan area for driving. Finding a parking spot is generally easy, and the majority of properties for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Henri-IV. However, getting around by transit can be difficult in L'Ancienne-Lorette due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are approximately 10 bus lines crossing the city, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. The bicycle is a somewhat poor method of transportation in L'Ancienne-Lorette as there are a limited number of bike lanes, and bicycling is made difficult by the often sloping topography. L'Ancienne-Lorette is also not especially conducive to walking because few daily errands can be run on foot.

It is often practical for house buyers in L'Ancienne-Lorette to shop for their groceries by walking. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes in close proximity. In terms of education, families will find that wherever their house is situated in L'Ancienne-Lorette, daycares and primary schools are nearby. However, high schools are not especially numerous and consequently may require a rather long walk to get to.

The character of L'Ancienne-Lorette is exemplified by its relaxed environment. Public green spaces, including Parc de la Rivière and Place de la Famille, are very well-spread out and there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, making it easy to get to them. The noise levels in this city are also low, as the streets are usually reasonably peaceful - although that is not the case close to Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, Autoroute Henri-IV or the railway line.
