More specifically, the closest rapid transit station, including Bathurst / Atkinson, Yonge / Royal Orchard and Yonge / Centre with access to the orange | VIVA ORANGE and blue | VIVA BLUE, is commonly within walking distance from the greater part of homes in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. In contrast, this neighbourhood is not particularly appropriate for cycling because there are a limited number of bike lanes, and there are quite a few elevation changes. Nevertheless, a few bicycling-friendly sectors can be found. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Uplands, even though running daily errands is convenient. On the other hand, cars are an excellent transportation option in this neighbourhood. Finding a place to park is quite easy, and most real estate listings are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 407.
In Uplands, families will generally be able to get to both primary and secondary schools on foot. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. On the other hand, daycares are not particularly numerous and thus not always within walking distance. With regards to eating, it is occasionally practical for property owners in Uplands to reach the nearest grocery store by walking.
