The favoured means of transportation in this part of the city is usually a car. It is especially convenient to park. In contrast, Whonnock is not a very pleasant part of Maple Ridge for travelling by public transit. Nevertheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily close by. Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in areas that are not very well-suited for those who travel by foot because meeting daily needs is very difficult. Whonnock is also not very conducive to bicycling as there are very few bike lanes, and there is a considerable amount of slopes.
Services
In all cases, a vehicle is required to shop for groceries. Concerning education, there are only a few primary schools in this part of the city and thus they can be an extended walk away. In addition, Whonnock does not contain any high schools. Furthermore, families may find it very difficult for their children to get to daycares on foot.
Character
The character of Whonnock is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. This neighbourhood is very quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Finally, it is easy to reach parks and there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out.
